Cynthia Fillman, Intuitive Designer

Cynthia Fillman, Intuitive Designer

So I’ve been hearing for months now how important it is for everyone who desires a serious web presence to have a blog. And VOILA … my first post. I’m trembling in my chair, and my fingertips are so charged with excitement that I can hardly type!

Seriously, since I like to babble, I think this will be fun and a great addition to my website, Intuitive Design.

So who am I?

Cynthia JM Fillman here, artist and graphic designer. Once hailed as a middle school guidance counselor, I fled the realm of public education back in 1999. I didn’t want to turn into one of those overweight, bitter old farts that should have quit centuries ago, but didn’t want to give up their retirement.

So I changed gears and got into graphic design. I always loved the challenge of taking a concept or an idea and turning into something attractive for my target audience. I wallowed around in the print industry for a number of years before expanding into the more liberating position I now inhabit as a freelance designer.

I really dig making logos … taking the concept of a business or a product and turning that into a visual that works in all sizes and formats, both print and digital. And I’m expanding into web design and development too.

But wait! There’s more! I’m also an artist … I create paintings and wall sculptures. My work is pretty adventurous, and my favorite media are acrylic paint plus anything that has cool texture. And I do photography, too, though I’ve just been too stinkin’ lazy to work out a photography display of my work on my website. Isn’t it pitiful that someone who does web design would put so little time and effort into her own site? Lord … some days I don’t even know how people find me.

At any rate, that’s my scoop. Glad to be on board. Gimme a shout!
